1. Prose Readings in Riga (Latvia), 2016

Prozas lasījumi (2016-12-10)

Prose Readings is an annual literary event which is organised since 1995 and has come to occupy a stable place within the context of cultural activities, in particular, of literary creative events in Latvia. The festival is a venue for Latvian writers and readers to meet one another, and also an opportunity to be present and hear readings by authors renowned in the world, to participate in discussion and master classes. On December 4, 2016 – on the birthday of the writer Andrejs Upīts – the opening event of his festival is planned in collaboration with one of the currently active literature portals or magazines.. During six festival days nine literary events take place: readings of new writers of the “Literary Academy”, two readings by guest authors, one of which is dedicated to the prose of Baltic authors, and six readings with participation of Latvian authors.
